5 rules for your night skincare routine

1. Refresh your skin

Before the beginning of the swimming season, be sure to take care to get rid of the remnants of dead cells in the upper layer of the skin. Instead of harsh scrubs that can traumatize your skin, use peeling lotions containing AHA or BHA acids, which are much milder.

2. Take care of the smoothness

When it comes to hair removal, never start on dry skin. Standing in a warm shower for a few minutes before shaving prepares your skin and softens your hair, making it easier to remove. Always use a moisturizing cream after shaving.

If you decide to take a course of laser hair removal, then you should also start it now, without delaying until the summer.

3. Don’t forget about night skincare

Antioxidants in skincare, applied in the morning, help neutralize UV radiation from the sun before it can harm the skin. But with the onset of active exposure to the sun, it is worth adding nighttime antioxidants to help the skin, because damage to skin cells continues even many hours after intense ultraviolet irradiation. To avoid this, use vitamin C night creams. Look for vitamin C (THD), vitamin E (tocopherol) and niacinamide (nicotinamide, nicotinic acid).

4. Get rid of skin rashes

If you have oily skin prone to breakouts, you shouldn’t hope that the active sun will dry out all its imperfections. Better take care of special cosmetics for acne and acne treatment before you go to the beach. The best option is to contact a professional dermatologist who will provide expert advice.

5. Use sunscreen

Use sunscreen every time you go outside and try to renew the protective layer of the cream throughout the day. Do not use products after their expiration date, and do not forget to apply them 15 minutes before leaving the house.

6. Remember to moisturize

Even in the hot summer period, you should not forget about a moisturizer. If you are uncomfortable using your usual heavy cream in the summer, you can replace it with a lighter lotion or fluid.

7. Do procedures in advance

If you have just performed certain procedures with the skin (waxing, peeling, etc.), give yourself at least a day, and preferably two, before you go on vacation. After all, chlorinated or saltwater in combination with the active sun can cause irritation, dryness, and discomfort.
