Beauty connoisseurs keep repeating that the evening stage of skin care is the most important. Because during sleep, new cells are formed that provide youthfulness and elasticity to the skin. So, good skin condition at night is the key to grooming. We find out how to streamline the skin care process in the evening and in what sequence to layer the products.

1. Cleansing

After a busy day at work or walking in the city, it is important to thoroughly cleanse your skin of makeup and environmental influences. The better you cleanse your face, the more effective the following beauty products will be. If in the morning it is enough to wash with water or use a gel or foam, then in the evening we recommend using a two-step washing system to cleanse the skin.

Make-up removal

Micellar water, milk, and a two-phase make-up remover are products that will help wash off makeup and remove the top layer of impurities. For the same purpose, you can use a hydrophilic oil or a cleansing balm, which gently dissolves even waterproof cosmetics.

Pore cleansing

If the first stage can be neglected (for example, if you do not do makeup or simply do not see the need for additional movements), then it is still advisable not to skip this one. A cleansing gel, foam, and mousse can help remove dirt, dust, and excess sebum that builds up in your pores, and remove sunscreen or foundation residues.

2. Toning

Even after such a seemingly thorough cleansing with makeup removers and washing, the skin is considered insufficiently prepared for evening beauty treatments and for bed. Cleansing the skin before going to bed is at the micro-level, so it is important to use a toner before applying a night cream or mask.

The main task of the tonic is to cleanse the skin, tone it, and normalize the pH balance after contact with hard water, so it should be applied immediately after washing. Apply with a sponge or fingertips. The toner will help rid the skin of pollution completely, even out tone, texture, and simply give a pleasant sensation.

Toners and lotions can also come in handy when your skin needs extra hydration or gentle exfoliation. If you feel that such help will be useful, choose a product based on your skin type and needs: for example, choose a moisturizing toner or lotion that will tighten pores.

3. Moisturizing with serum

It may surprise some, but it is the serum that is considered the main stage of skin care in the evening. The serum is a high concentration of active ingredients that help enhance basic care and address specific concerns. It should contain highly effective ingredients that will help the skin to regenerate, moisturize, and help prevent aging.

Choose a lifting serum or a treatment for hyperpigmentation or acne depending on your skin’s needs.

4. Applying cream under the eyes

It is advisable to apply the cream, gel, and other products for the area around the eyes before the face cream. Never apply night cream or serum to the under-eye area. The fact is that in this area the skin is especially sensitive, so wrinkles appear on it faster. To prevent this, use a special cream and apply another beauty hack: apply the product with your ring finger, moving along the upper eyelid from the inner corner of the eye to the outer, and on the lower eyelid, vice versa, from outer to inner.

5. Night cream

And finally, the last stage is the night cream. Choose the night option– it is more saturated with nutrients that the skin needs in the dark. Choose a cream according to your skin type: some people prefer a more oily texture, others– a gel.

The cream can be multi-tasking and perform several functions at once, but it must necessarily contain moisturizing ingredients. The night cream will create a protective shell, will help moisturize and nourish the skin with vitamins and antioxidants. Night cream should be applied not only on the face– do not forget about the neck and décolleté; At night, instead of a cream, you can apply a sleep mask– a mask that does not require rinsing and works while you sleep.
