Digital Aging: How to preserve youth and beauty if you work at the computer all-day

  • Posted 1 aasta ago

We will tell you how to maintain a healthy look, despite the New Year’s deadlines.

Before the New Year, the number of tasks increases. Together with them, the time that we spend in front of the screens of gadgets also increases. And if you thought it only affected your vision and posture, the bad news is that it also affects your face and neck.

What is ‘digital aging’

Blue radiation (HEV radiation) from TV screens, monitors, as well as from energy-saving lamps, affects the appearance and health.

Scientists and cosmetologists discovered the consequences for the skin only a few years ago. It was then that the term “digital aging” appeared. The main signs of digital aging are hyperpigmentation and inflammatory responses. Constant work with a laptop or smartphone changes the posture: the neck and back are in the same position all the time, the muscles tense, hurt. Wrinkles appear, which over time can become permanent and very deep. The neck and décolleté are most affected.

Residents of the metropolis work a lot, occupy high positions and are constantly in a hurry, they have little rest, sleep and eat poorly, and they are also online around the clock: they answer letters and messages from three devices at the same time, fall asleep, flipping through feeds in social networks.

Recently, doctors have a new term– behavioral aging. This is the result of the modern pace of life and the habit of rushing, and it is reflected on the face. Therefore, anti-age nutrition and cosmetics that increase skin elasticity are your must-haves.

How to reduce the negative impact of computer work

  • Increase the distance between the blue light source and your face as much as possible.
  • Reduce the time the skin is exposed to radiation.
  • Do not use your phone, tablet, laptop, computer, TV at least two hours before bed.
  • When working with electronic devices, use glasses with yellow or orange lenses: they block blue light.
  • Do not install blue fluorescent or LED bulbs in the bedroom.
  • Install applications on your smartphone that limit the blue light of the display.
  • Do not use electronic devices with LCD displays at night.
  • Use products that minimize the effects of radiation, increase the number of antioxidants in the skin, and improve its protective functions. To do this, choose special products with protection against HEV rays, containing an antioxidant complex (according to experts, cocoa extract protects best against HEV radiation). They increase the resistance of cells to adverse effects, slow down wilting. The active ingredients have a pronounced anti-inflammatory and regenerating effect.

How to slow down digital aging

The reasons may be not only HEV radiation, but also the prolonged tilt of the head when using a smartphone. This leads to problems such as wrinkles and “Venus’ Rings”– the first signs of aging of skin and muscles. To strengthen the muscles, it is enough to perform exercises several times a day, and cosmetologists advise taking care of the skin with the help of special means

Cosmetics

Modern remedies promise to reverse the effects of digital aging. They activate the regenerative processes in the skin, help to establish metabolism, and visually improve the complexion.

Exercises

  • Clasp your palms at the back of your head and, overcoming the resistance of your hands, strain your neck muscles and tilt your head back. Lock this position for 15 seconds.
  • Rest your palms on your forehead and, overcoming the resistance of your hands, tilt your head forward. Lock this position for 15 seconds.
  • Pull your chin forward, hold it for 5-10 seconds, then return it to its original position. Repeat 20 times.
  • Take a pencil in your teeth and write a few lines of a poem in the air, or count from 1 to 30.
  • Place the inside of both palms on your chin. Overcoming resistance, tilt your head towards your chest. Then, with the efforts of your hands, tilt your head back. Repeat 10-20 times.

Take some time off, relax your muscles, and book an appointment to treat yourself to a relaxing massage.
