Watching the Instagram of top stylists, we noticed a trend for “coffee” hair shades. The most current variation of the trend is called “nutty mocha” and involves a combination of brown and blonde shades.

“It’s a great option for brunettes who want to add highlights to their hair,” says Carissa Schaudt, a colorist at Maxine Salon. If you have naturally blond hair, you can have your stylist simply add a few strands two or three shades lighter than your natural hair color, she says.

Any version of “coffee and milk” coloring will be more relevant in the fall than ever before. Experiment with your colorist and create your own interpretation of the “coffee” trend.
